The Mexican Mafia originated in the mid-1950s at the Duel Vocational Institute in Tracy, California. The prison, originally built to house young male offenders, soon became the home of many Mexican-American street gang members mostly from barrios, or neighborhoods, in East Lost Angeles.
The Sureno familia is a well known gang that rules a big part of Los Santos.
The Surenos is a Spanish / Latino-American street gang.
During this time White inmates enjoyed control over most of the trustee positions which offered them many prison luxuries. But more importantly, the Whites controlled the prison underworld. The Mexican-American inmates wanted more freedom and more importantly, to control the prison drug trade.
A small group of Mexican-American inmates organized themselves into what would become to be known as the Mexican Mafia. They patterned their organization after the Italian Mafia, which was often discussed in the media during the 1950s. They even copied the Black Hand symbol used by the Italians. As the group recruited newly arriving Mexican-American inmates they soon took hold of the California prison system, however according to the Department of Justice, the group did not have a strong leadership structure until the 1960s. By this time they controlled the narcotic traffic throughout most of the California and San Andreas prisons.
Early requirements of the gang required prospective members to be Mexican. Members also had to have completed at least one ‘hit’ or stabbing and their status in the gang was then based on their seniority and dedication. Dedication was usually proven by how many assaults they had engaged in.
Over the years their membership rules have evolved. Most probationary members are now voted into the gang by three existing members. 1990 - A Bit Before The Beginning
Josue Ruiz, A 16 years old chicano who lived all his life in El Corona taking care of his two little brothers Juan (9 Years) and Victor (11 Years), At that time Surside Surenos have already taken over El Corona, Josue always put work into the clicka, He was always down even that he knew that he was risking his life and everything he had for what he called "His Familia", He knew that if anything will happen to him, His brothers will be safe with the clicka even tho` he havent gain enough respect thats why he knew he must not let the clicka down!
Josue was only 16 years old at the time, He lived in a 1 bedroom house right next to the "HQ" of the Surside Surenos, He always joined up the little meeting that the clicka used to have. His little brothers like every other little kid in El Corona dreamed about jumping in to Surside Surenos, they always stick together, watch and imitate other cholos from the varrio...
Josue gave a new meaning to the word "Loco", Josue was known for his out of control anger, But he knew how to use that anger for his own good, One day the Jefe de Surside Surenos decided its time for Josue to prove himself once and for good.
20:10 PM A cholo called Felipe was known as the "Mano Derecha" of el Jefe walked up to Josue and told him that its time for him to prove himself, Josue knew it was his first and last chance, He took out his Glock, Cocked it and jumped inside a blue 64' Impala waiting infront of the "HQ" and 3 other armed cholos in it covering their faces with blue bandannas, Josue didnt know where or what was going to happend, all he knew that that moment was one of his most important moments
Josue and the rest of the cholos drove over to the LS City Bank, Went inside and successfuly robbed 50,000$ without any troubles. Josue earned about 5,000$ from the robbery but he also earned his respect and his blue rag!
2002 - The New Beginning
Its 2002 and now its Josue's era!
in 12 years, Josue have managed to gain as much respect as he could, He have took over SurSide Surenos and his little brothers Juan and Victor, Their dream has came true, they jumped in to Surside Surenos and gained enough respect
"Victor's Night"
At that time, North Side Marrons, The biggest norteno clicka that existed in LS, We're planning for a revenge as they had their "Lider''s brother killed by Surside Surenos but they knew they werent able to get inside El Corona. So they went to El Corona dressed up in White unsuspecios clothes, They quickly spotted Victor Ruiz, Josue's brother, They quickly walked up to Victor and shot him 7 shots in his chest leading into his immediate death, they threw a red bandanna at his body and left El Corona in a black getaway car..
Josue anger prevented him from thinking but Juan had ideas of his own, At the same exact night 12 houses were burned down, 17 Nortenos were killed and heavily wounded, and 4 cars were smashed up. That night was a "Victory" for Surside Surenos but was a big loss for Josue and Juan.
"Victor's Night" Started one of the biggest wars in LS, the war was on for about 2 Years, Both sides lost alot of members but at the end Surside Surenos managed to kidnap North Side Marron's "Lider" and kill him which lead into the Death of North Side Marrons once and for all!
2005 - Vatos Locos
3 years after "Victor's Night" Nortenos we're running in little sets but no one actuly saw them, Meanwhile a new clicka that represented the color Yellow was formed in North East LS, it was called Vatos Locos.
Vatos Locos managed to gain alot of members, they became known very fast, At First Surside Surenos didnt have any troubles with Vatos Locos untill one day Vatos Locos decided that they want to take over one of Surside Surenos' turf which was located in Idlewood, That part was a big money maker for Surside Surenos, At that time Juan was making his way up in the "Familia" he thought that it was better for them if Juan goes alone to their leader and talk about a truce.
Unfortunately, they rejected Juan's offer and on top of that they followed him back to El Corona, Meanwhile at the East entrance of El Corona Josue was standing infront of his Bar with 3 other cholos. when Juan steped out of the car, a yellow tahoma was behind him with 2 Vatos Locos sliding out of the windows aiming their guns at Juan, Juan quickly jumped inside his car and managed to avoid the bullets and at the same time Josue and the other cholos joined to the shootout. The Yellow Tahoma got away so Juan chased it back to North East LS with Josue and another 2 cholos, by the time they got there 8 Vatos Locos we're waiting there armed, The 4 of them managed to stay alive in a big shootout untill the 4 cars from Surside arrived to the scene. LSPD interrupted the shootout, everyone managed to get away leaving 5 dead vatos locos and 1 sureno dead.
The war between Surside Surenos and Vatos Locos quickly turned into a blood bath, Josue got informed about an attack that was already planned by Vatos Locos, Juan already knew what he had to do...
About 10 cars entered El Corona from the east, and about 40 Vatos Locos get out of the vehicles, El Corona was quite, There was no one in the streets, No sign of life..
BOOOM!
The first car explodes
2 seconds after it another explosion! The rear car blew up and it started raining Molotoves on the Vatos Locos! Trashmasters blocked all the entrances which prevented LSPD to enter El Corona while Surenos were on the roofs destroying Vatos Locos!
2007 - Surside Surenos Taking over the Government
Juan have gained enough Respect, He's now the only one Josue can trust. Josue had to go to mexico for some time for very important bussines, He left all the decisions for Juan.
Juan always wanted to spread Surenos' bussines outside the streets, He was more of a bussines-cholo, Juan have made friends, alot of friends, Friends that can get into anywhere, He was getting loads of guns stolen from the LSPD by unknown people who works for the government, Juan managed to make bussines with alot of people with powers.
Juan's powers became bigger and stronger, Juan met the Director of the Secret Agency that works for the government and does all kind of black operations for the government, he became great friends with him untill one day Juan met the President himself, President Lucas Cueno. The President was in need of big help, Help that the Secret Agency couldnt do.. Cueno didnt know if he should trust Juan or not, but he know he was his last chance, For Juan the job was pretty simple, he have done it in 3 days, all the ones who needed to be killed were killed and all the ones who needed to dissapear dissapeared..
Surside Surenos became more than a street gang, They had strong relations with the government, Juan had his hands on everything he wanted, untill one day Cueno's position as the president was in danger, His Agency was seen dealing with some mexican outside LS, Cueno had to make a move so he accused Juan, Juan was accused with things that he never do, and all that was to cover Cueno's black actions, Cueno decided to make a raid, to finish Juan and his whole gang, Luckily Juan was informed about the raid from his LSPD friends before it even happen, by the time the SWATs arrived to El Corona Juan already dissapeared, Cueno's vice president, Lorenzo Sabino always wanted Cueno's Position, So he did all he had to do to take Cueno off his position.
2008 - Emilio " Conejo" Escobar
Everything is back to nomal in El Corona, Surside Surenos had enough fire armed to start war world 3, Josue have came back to LS, with a good Childhood friend of his, His name was Emilio "Conejo" Escobar, In 2008 Emilio have finish his jail sentences, He was an old-school Sureno just like Josue, Josue knew he can trust Emilio, At First Juan didnt like Emilio even tho` he knew him for a long time.
Emilio Managed to prove himself to the Clicka, He saved Juan twice from getting shot in the head which changed Juan's idea about him..
2009 - Everything is changing
Paco Ruiz
2009 is a year filled with action, Juan finds his lost son Paco, Paco have been living with his mom who left Juan when she was pregnant and went to Mexico to re-unite with her grandfather, Paco had to go to LS to find his father after his mother died in a car accident in Mexico.
Paco managed to find his father, Paco was 14 years old, his english was pretty but hes getting used to it..
Sergio Rafael - Diego Rafael
Sergio and Diego Rafael are two brothers who have been living in El Corona for long time representing the Surenos Trece.
They worked all their lives helping the clicka, Juan always knew he could count on them, They always were down for every big action Juan makes.. Juan always trusted them and he knew that one day they will be able to replace him but he also knew they need to learn Juan's way of dealing with all kind of important dicisions..
Alvaro Ruiz
Alvaro Ruiz is Juan's cousin, he came back from Mexico after 7 years, he still has his blue rag and his sureno pride. Juan knows he can rely on him with taking important dicisions but he also dont want to lose another brother so he always keeps a close eye on him so he always takes him to big meetings and lets him handle the clicka's diplomacy..
Carlitos Lopez
Carlitos is the Son of the old Jefe de Surside Surenos. He's also Emilio's old cellmate, Emilio always counted on Carlitos to watch his back in prison. Now Carlitos is back to El Corona and ready to continue what his father starter and ready to do anything for the clicka
2010 - Los Surenos 13 <> Juan's Era
Josue and Emilio went out of town on a "Bussines Trip" but after a while Juan lost all contact with them, He doesnt know anything about them or even their location. El Corona is dying, All the cholos are spreading out only the real loyal ones are staying, Juan now knows who to trust and who not to trust..
Its now up to Juan to get Los Surenos 13 back on the map with the help on his trusted vatos Paco, Diego, Sergio, Dwayne, Alvaro and Carlitos..

Every Sureno is to live by these rules, or die breaking these rules.
- Give your life to El Jefe, never question his command and always
follow his order, the 1st priority in a shootout, is to protect him. - Blood in blood out, once you are a member of the clicka, you swear
your loyalty & the only way to leave the gang is through death,
Surside Surenos clicka hasta la muerte! - Never snitch, callin la popo is extreme dishonor & any member of the clicka found to do will be punished hard.
- Never make fatal decisions without el jefe present, e.g no gang
truces, no declaring gang war, only el jefe can speak for the clicka. - Respect your rank and know your place, follow orders of higher
ranking members and never give orders 2 members higher then yourself. - Never call a gang member with a street name by his real name in front of outsiders, especially el jefe.
- NEVER let anyone into our hideout & gang hq or show them where it is.
- Never go around the city or to a meeting alone, always have at least 1 member with you to avoid dumb shit that might happen.
- Never give out any crucial information about the gang or member names.
- If outnumbered, or surrounded by policia do not shoot back or ask
for backup from other members & risk their lives, just get the fuck
out of there or ask for a ride. - Do not go into a rival gangs turf, unless it is a provoked attack
or retaliation, with orders given by a higher ranked loco than you. - Never hold gats and cuetes out in the streets, keep that shit
hidden and tucked in case puercos role through, you can only carry your
glock on you, but hidden. - Never fight with your own familia, inside problems will be fixed by
el jefe, never disrespect your bandana, never disrespect your colors. - When you need to do something, Always be with atleast 1 more
ese, rolling wit` tu`, to where you need to go, We dont want no
problems if some putos catch you alone.
- You must listen to the faction boss at all times, if I tell you not to shoot, or if I tell you not to start a fight, then you pay attention and follow orders and trust it is in the best interests of the gang.
- If your application is accepted, you will need to get to know the gang and its members ICly and RP actively and impressively for 1~2 days minimum, some special cases may be made where it's shorter or longer than this.
- If you disrespect higher ranked member in the faction, or not do as
your told by higher rank, You WILL without thinking twice - get PKed / CK . - 5. You must'nt be alone while your 'chillin' outside at the city, have a member come with you.
- 6. You MUST be active on your sureno player.
- 7. You cant disrespect / insult a member oocly , can result in ajail, and if it keeps, may get to faction uninvite.
- 8. You MUST know how to RP a mexican, for mexican slang, check google.
- 9. you need to download&install the gang mod pack.
- 10. You need to know all the IC rules and listen to do always, so as the OOC ones.

Before Posting an Application
- Make sure you know all basics about RolePlaying.
- Make sure you read all the Gang/Faction Rules.
- Make sure you read all the Surenos IC & OOC Rules.
- Make sure you have a latin name (Example Carlos_Mendez) -If you have only a Mexican Lastname it might be acceptable.
- Make sure you post your application in the right format, And answer all the questions, dont leave any blanks. (Specialy the char story)
- Make sure your character IS mexican ICly and specialy not a norteno.
- Make sure your gonna be active or else dont apply, because we dont need people who will just leave after they get accepted.
- Read some information about Surenos(and maybe nortenos) if you dont know alot about the gang.
- If you never used the mexican slang, Hang around with other surenos outsiders and/or surenos to get the slang right!
Dont's
- Dont PM us in-game or on forum to check your application or to "test" your RP.
- Dont talk/ask alot.. Watch, lean, and be down with every shootout/brawl.
- Dont get too nosy.
- Dont come to us like "Hey i wanna join" or "/b i wanna join your gang" or any other shit.
- Dont interrupt any RolePlays.
- Dont just follow everyone around, and dont just stand/sit.. Do something useful.
- Dont forget any of the above.
Do's
- Remember all the Dont's
- Get to know everyone at El Corona
- Always be down with every shootout/brawl.
- Always help surenos when they need you
- Trust only surenos
- RP your way in, This you gotta do it by yourself, Be creative.. Get some ideas to impress us.. RP everything.
